First Look Favorite

July 31, 2013

First looks have been very popular with our couples the last few years – and we happen to love them! It certainly allows for couples to have an intimate moment before the rush of the day begins, and it gives their wedding parties and their families the time to capture all of those important photos for the day without the pressure of accomplishing all of that during the cocktail hour.

What is a first look you ask? Well, according to theweddingcentral.com, “A first look is a moment staged and set up by a wedding photographer (and planner!) for the bride and groom to see each other before the ceremony. Normally, the bride and groom would agree upon a location away from family and friends to give them privacy and to make that moment just for them. Ok, not really “away”, but a few feet away. The groom would be looking away -at the wedding photographer – while the bride starts walking down towards him. She will tap his shoulder, and he will turn around and see his beautiful bride for the first time….” to get the full story, click here

Last fall, we worked with our couple Erin and Andy, and their photographer Timothy Whaley & Associates to plan their first look to take place at the Palmer House Hilton, in the gorgeous lobby, on the balcony above the Empire Room, where their reception would take place. We love this photo to that Timothy Whaley & Associates captured. Andy’s face says it all!
