Wish Upon a Wedding is dedicated to granting weddings to couples who are facing terminal illness. By giving the gift of a dream wedding, the organization is able to grant some of the most intimate and heartfelt wishes of these people’s lives, and help them share this important day with close family members. The foundation was created to celebrate the courage, determination and spirit of these couples by granting their dream wedding wishes. The hope is that chosen recipients can inspire other couples facing similar situations to find hope and strength.
Granting a wish includes:

- Venue, caterer
- Rental company
- Photographer
- Videographer
- Cake
- Gown(s)
- Tuxedo(s)
- Officiate
- Florist
- Stationery Designer
- DJ/Musicians
- Hair/Makeup
- Transportation as determined by couple and WUW

Facts about Wish Upon a Wedding:
- While the primary focus continues to provide weddings for terminally ill individuals regardless of sexual orientation, as of July 22nd, WUW will also help those faced with other personal burdens, such as serious emotional, physical or other debilitating issues.
- A donation to Wish Upon a Wedding (or any of your favorite charities) is a great gift for a bride and groom who aren’t looking for the traditional home-starting gifts. A donation in their name is a very thoughtful gift.
- The Association of Bridal Consultants (ABC), the oldest and largest training organization for wedding professionals in the world is the official trade association partner for Wish Upon a Wedding
- The Wish Upon a Wedding Chicago Chapter was one of the first chapters founded!
- Florence and Michael were the first couple to have their wedding wish granted in San Francisco, California.
- Beth and Nick were the first Chicago couple to have their wish granted
- Perez Hilton threw a shout out to Wish Upon a Wedding last month

Wish Upon a Wedding is a charity that can resonate with all of us as we have all been affected by a terminal illness. This is why we are so excited for the gala this November! Ticket holders are offered a dinner and cocktails, dessert provided by Sarah’s Pastries and Katherine Anne Confections, opportunities to bid on some exciting prizes and one of a kind experiences, and entertainment provided by the Larry King Orchestra! Guests will also have a chance to experience Shutterbooth’s super fun photo booth, Gerber & Scarpelli Photography, I DO Films and enjoy the amazing decor provided by THE MEETINGHOUSE COMPANIES, Inc., BBJ Linen, Classic Party Rentals, Tablescapes Party Rental and Frost Lighting.
The Blissful Wishes Ball is more than just a charity gala- the funds raised will allow the organization to continue granting wishes to couples who truly deserve them! So come join us for the evening!
