Bonnie & John – June 25, 2011

August 25, 2011

Bonnie and John had a lovely wedding day at Loft on Lake on June 25, 2011. These two lovebirds exchanged nuptials in a ceremony in the round setting. For those readers who are unsure what the setting is, a ceremony in the round is when the bride and groom are featured in the center of their guests. Chairs surround the bride and groom in circular shape as the two recite vows (rather than the traditional standing up in front). Typically, this set-up is ideal for an intimate setting and/or a smaller guest count. The ceremony design is also said to symbolize eternity and oneness, which makes it a natural fit for a wedding ceremony!

Bonnie and John’s floral and decor elements were comprised of peacock feathers and chinese paper laterns. These looks completed the warm summer look and feel of the wedding and were provided by Alex Justino of Exquisite Designs.

Additionally, the legendary Moleskine notebooks, which rested on gold stands, were used as escort cards. Bonnie and John doubled the small notebooks as wedding favors, which were personalized for each of their guests. Inside each notebook, a small card was inserted. The card read: “Thank You for being part of our story. Here is something for you on which to write your story. Love, John & Bonnie.” We thought this special touch was adorable!

Phil Stefani Signature Events provided the catering for the wedding. Some of the highlighted and original menu items included:

SAVORY BEIGNETS

Acorn Squash fritters with cinnamon apple puree

FUSION SPRING ROLLS

Leeks, Artichoke Hearts, Carrots with a remoulade mustard dipping sauce

ARTISAN CHEESE DISPLAY

with assorted Cabbot Aged Cheddar, French Rouge et Noir Brie, Tillamook Aged Pepper Jack, Herb and Garlic Boursin, Locatelli Peccorino Romano, Dean and Deluca Parmigiano Reggiano, Red, Green and Black Olives with Assorted Crackers and Grissini Sticks.

KOBE BEEF MEAT LOAF STUFFED WITH WHITE BUTTON MUSHROOMS

RATATOUILLE FILLED SOCCA CREPES

set on a goat cheese sauce filled with bundled matchstick vegetables.

The dessert table, which featured various flavored pies from TipsyCake, was a wedding first for the MDE team! The pies ranged in an assortment of flavors from Blueberry and Apple Streusel to Banoffi Pie (A traditional British pie with a salty crust, toffee and banana filling complete with fresh whipped creme). The bride and groom incorporated the pies to supplement their deliciously dreamy two-tiered cake, which was also done by TipsyCake.

The end of the night closed just as a fairytale would, with a horse and carriage coming to sweep Bonnie and John off their feet and into the night! Congratulations once again Bonnie and John! We wish you all the best and future happiness!
