Evolve Chicago: Personal & Editorial Styling!

April 25, 2012

Evolve is our go-to styling company! Jessi Sheehan, of Evolve Chicago, is an absolute genius when it comes to putting together fabulous looks for gorgeous editorial shoots and fashion shows as well as taking the looks from the expensive runway shows all over the world and transforming them into outfits that work for everyday.

.

Evolve offers a variety of services that will fit your wardrobe needs. Evolve offers the following styling services… closet rearrange, closet restyle, closet evaluation, special event styling, editorial styling, bridal styling and men’s wardrobe styling.

.

Jessi, along with her business partner Ben Mahoney, of Ben Mahoney Productions, founded Evolve earlier this year and the company has already been extremely successful! From closet evaluations to magazine photo shoots, Jessi’s forte is understanding the vision of her clients and helping them come to life. We are really looking forward to seeing what she comes up with for our team lifestyle shoot with Carasco Photography early next week!

Jessi’s best fashion tip this year: Color and patterns are your best friend!  Don’t be afraid to take a chance with bright colors and fun patterns.  Add it into your wardrobe with an accessory like this Teal Beaded Necklace or the Queen’s Necklace! Take it up a notch with these Alice + Olivia pants (my personal favorite) or these Alexander Wang Botanical Ombre Jeans.

In the words of Jessi Sheehan…

Working with a stylist is not completely about the glitz and glam (although it can be!). A stylist makes your wardrobe more cohesive and tells the best story about who you are and how you want people to see you. Many men and women already have great style and look to a stylist for fresh ideas and to take it up a notch. It is also about the convenience. You no longer have to dread shopping, getting dressed each morning, packing for a trip or finding that amazing piece to wear for your next gala or attending a birthday dinner with friends.

.

Jessi is constantly seeing what new designers are creating, through research in-store and online. Everything becomes realistic when the item is worn on a real body versus a model. That is when you can tell the true quality of the garment, its wear, drape, etc… looks CAN be deceiving. Jessi is approachable, priding herself on working with a range of clients both men and women (age, demographic, size).

.

Jessi focuses on listening to the client and having an open dialogue about what makes them most comfortable. Although someone (calling themself a stylist) may have great personal style, I think the best stylists are those who can dress others slightly better than themselves. They are able to remove any of their personal interests and likes, when it comes to creating an outfit, and focus solely on the needs of their client.

.

Evolve also strives when it comes to fashion show production, editorial shoots and films. This is where the fantasy magic happens. Creating a concept that is unlike real life, giving it an edge, and creating a feeling. It is fast and dramatic, but also rewarding. But, what is often not seen on tv or not talked about when it comes to ‘styling’ is the preparation it takes to put on a great show or shoot. Styling the outfits is often the easiest part. There is so much more that people do not know. The hustle and bustle, the preparation, the organization, the long hours… it is work, but the pay off of seeing that image when you know you got it, is an amazing feeling.
