SpotMe Technology: Make Your Meetings Matter

At the recent President&CEO FOCUS on the Middle Market Executive Conference in Chicago, our client President&CEO Magazine utilized SpotMe technology to register and track participants. This technology helped to make registration and tracking of attendees throughout the event streamlined and flawless.

SpotMe has been around for 12 years, originally founded in Switzerland, and made its appearance in the United States in 2007. Mike Irwin, Project Manager at SpotMe, joined our team for the conference and was kind enough to answer some questions regarding everything that the technology has to offer!.

Q: Would you mind providing me with an overview of SpotMe?

A: “SpotMe has done about 2,000-3,000 different events, ranging from corporate senior leadership meetings to trade shows. We can do meetings ranging from 50-3,000 people.”

Q: What makes SpotMe different than other event registration companies?

.

A: “We are event professionals before we are app developers and that is the mindset we use when we design our events. Events are always changing, and the best thing about our team and our technology is that it can change with the event, at the drop of the hat.

Another thing that differentiates us is that we are a part of the event team and like to start working with the client as soon as possible on an event. Our technology is completely customizable and we like to make sure that every single detail that could be helpful to the event is included.”

Q: Can you please tell me more about the technology aspect of SpotMe?

.

A: “Currently we are on the 4th generation of technology. We have two different systems that clients can utilize. One is a handheld device that works with microchips in the participant badges to track attendance (which is what President&CEO utilized for their event on May 7).

.

Our more advanced option includes an app that can be downloaded to personal iPhone/iPad devices or the client can rent iPhones/iPads for the attendees. This app is completely customizable for the specific event and can include things like; sponsor links, maps, agendas and any other collateral used for the event packet. The app is backed up to a cloud, so attendees receive a post-event email providing a link to all the materials they used during the conference. This link even includes notes attendees may have taken during the event and business cards that they may have electronically shared. The app also allows pictures of each attendee to be uploaded to the contact list, so that you can put a name to the face after an event. Another perk to the app is that it can help the crowd interact with the speakers through polls and live question and answer sessions. Finally, the app adds immense value to the event producers by providing digital exit surveys that garner between 60-80% completion rates.

In conclusion, SpotMe is essentially meeting architecture. We can completely customize the system to your specific meeting needs, including branding and sponsorship opportunities. We are a part of the event team and make sure that all your needs are met via our systems.”
