Germania Place Creative Shoot!

June 7, 2012

MDE collaborated with CS Brides Magazine, Carasco Photography, Leap Weddings, Evolve, Femme du Coupe and ALD Shows, to produce a creative shoot featuring Germania Place & Kenmare Catering. This shoot was Mad Men inspired and included a variety of 60’s themed details!

All of the brilliant photographs are courtesy of Carasco Photography, who did a beautiful job capturing all the fun details of the shoot.

Germania Place is a historic building located in the Gold Coast neighborhood of Chicago. Germania Place was designed by the architectural firm Addison & Fielder in 1888. This building is known as one of Chicago’s most important landmark buildings. Today, Germania Place offers two amazing ballrooms; the Grand Ballroom and the Royal Ballroom. These ballrooms have thirty-five foot ceilings, hardwood floors and mahogany bars. Both rooms are beautiful spaces to host weddings & events! Our models looked oh so 60’s chic thanks to our stylist Jessi Sheehan of Evolve. It was like the models walked right off the set of Mad Men thanks to Jessi’s genius.

Stephanie and Beth, the fabulous ladies of Epoch Studio Salon, did the hair and makeup for the photo shoot and completed the models’ looks with retro glam style.

We collaborated with ALD Shows to design the tablescape. The design of the table showcased a sexy, sophisticated dinner setting inspired by the 1960’s. From the citron lamour table linen, provided by BBJ Linen, to the gold rimmed glassware, provided by Classic Party Rentals, this dinner setting was a fresh, modern twist on a retro inspired table.

The Calla Lilly floral arrangements were created by ALD Shows. They took a more modern approach for the arrangements which added great visual interest to the overall design of the table.

The elegant and colorful sweets table was designed and created by the wonderfully talented Amy DiTimasso, of Sugar Chic Designs. Amy chose to incorporate citron gift boxes and vases into her tables to play off of the table linens we used for the dinner table. Amy’s designs never cease to AMAZE us! She is brilliant at her craft and brings her client’s visions to life flawlessly every time she designs a sweets table. The ivory wedding cake embellished with flower petals was provided by Sarah’s Pastries and Candies.

The vintage bars were designed by Revae Schneider of Femme du Coupe, who doubled as a model for the shoot! Femme du Coupe specializes in bar styling and creates custom drinks for all types of events. Check out Femme du Coupe to add a cool feature to your next private or corporate event!

Leap Weddings filmed the creative shoot and created this amazing video which captures each and every vendor in their element!

We would like to thank all of the vendors who worked together to accomplish this fabulous Mad Men shoot. We had so much fun working with everyone and think that we absolutely knocked it out of the park (If we do say ourselves)!
