Yesterday we were apart of an exciting segment on WGN TV that was all about Election Day themed parties. The patriotic inspiration was so fun to work with and the tablescape turned out absolutely stunning… if we do say so ourselves! To check out the segment click here!
One of Chicago’s oldest steakhouses provided us with Obama’s hometown meal of steak with horseradish sauce. They also provided shrimp cocktail & pizza bites as easy party appetizers for your guests. Between running errands and voting, it’s best to have some easy food to pull out and serve quickly. .
What’s a party without cake? Lana’s created a deliciously patriotic ballot box cake that served as a stunning centerpiece for our table and a greater conversation starter!
Democrat and Republican Cake Pops are also a delicious way to celebrate the Election! We just loved these donkey and elephant pops from Cocomori!
Beer pretzel candy cigars are a perfect way to celebrate a big win (or a good consolation if your candidate gets defeated)! We also made sure to incorporate mini Boston cream pie shooters from Romney’s home state of Massachusetts. Fair and balanced is the way to have a fun party!
Garrett Popcorn has gotten in the patriotic spirit with Election Tins of Chicago Mix, a bipartisan flavor combination..
.Although food is a super important part of any party, decor is just as important! BBJ Linens has the perfect patriotic linens to celebrate the election! The Federal Shantung table linen is a gorgeous blue color, and BBJ even has napkins that you can create your own American flag out of!
Amy DiTomasso, the creative genius behind Sugar Chic Designs, created custom popcorn holders with little “ballots” tucked inside the ribbon.
Revae Schneider of Femme Du Coupe created a sour cherry punch called “Pennsylvania Avenue” to celebrate the election results. The red cocktail with the blueberry embellishments are the perfect color scheme and even drink stirrer is in the spirit!
Special thanks to Makeup by Aga, Robyn Tornabeni for her genius hair styling, and our favorite stylist, Jessi Sheehan of Evolve, (who provided the gorgeous necklace from Cayetano Legacy Collection) for making Michelle look fabulous for the segment!
