Julie + Will’s Wedding on Northerly Island

Julie and Will had an absolutely beautiful Chicago summer wedding in June of this year. Julie had an eye for detail from the moment we began working with her. She knew immediately that she wanted romantic elegance and timeless style under the big tent at Northerly Island, a gorgeous peninsula right in the heart of Chicago’s south loop area. The fabulous back drop to this gorgeous wedding was the glittering Chicago skyline, complete with fireworks from another landmark, Navy Pier! From the stunning Stephen Yearick gown and glittering Jimmy Choo shoes to her hair and makeup, Julie embodied a sexy, classic and glamorous bride. While her 12 bridesmaids were in soft hues of lavender and light blue, her handsome groom and his groomsmen were in lightweight grey suits that complimented the ladies. This bridal party had some serious style!

All of the vendors contributing to this day really brought their A-game; from Erin McDonald with Platinum Events to Paramount Event Catering (who brought the bride’s dream of sophisticated stations inspired by the couple’s favorite foods to life!) – there was no detail left unattended. And THAT cake! Elysia Root Cakes really knocked it out of the park, perfectly replicating the floral featured at the wedding on the cake! It was absolutely stunning. The blush linens that alternated from sparkly sequined to sophisticated satin brought the lush summer floral and decadent crystal + candle light together for a most stunning blend of crisp and glam that I had ever seen.

Before reaching the tent guests were treated to a meandering marquis tent that brought a lush english garden to life, providing the perfect path from the cocktail space (the former airline terminal of Miegs Field, the airport that was once on Northerly Island) into the gorgeous tent.

The bride thought of everything for guests from sandals to glow sticks for the perfect dance party after dinner. Paramount Events catering created elegantly curated, enticing stations inspired by the couple’s favorite dishes. Sights, sounds and delicious scents came from that gorgeous tent through the evening!

The wedding was visual and glamorous while still being intimate about this wonderful couple and their marriage. It was truly my pleasure to work with them and I hope you enjoy their wedding!
