There are moments in a career that change everything — not just the direction of your work, but how the world sees it. For me, one of those moments came earlier this year when I sat down for a conversation with Forbes and discussed how celebrity weddings are changing the industry. In the piece, “Celebrity Weddings Help the Economy,” I had the opportunity to reflect on nearly two decades of planning celebrations for couples of every background — from intimate gatherings to global icons and high-profile clients.

“I’ve planned 426 weddings — and the calendars for 2026 and 2027 are already filling fast.”
That number isn’t just a statistic. It’s a lifetime of late nights, creative problem-solving, cultural learning, and deep relationships. It’s the weddings that make headlines — the ones that appear in People magazine or spark conversation around the world — and the quieter moments that define why I do what I do.
What most people don’t see is how much the world of luxury celebrations is intertwined with culture and community. In our conversation, I talked about the shift we’re seeing in how couples approach weddings today:
“Younger generations aren’t doing the weddings their parents did. They’re creating something that reflects who they are, not just what tradition dictates.”
This shift isn’t just aesthetic. It ripples out into the economy — from florists embracing curated bars over cathedral-style arrangements to local vendors around the world who now welcome celebrations that bring global guests to their doorsteps. It’s why weddings that might look effortless on the outside represent so much creative labor and coordination behind the scenes.

I also spoke about the importance of diplomacy in this role — not just between partners and their families, but across cultures and continents.
“Because I work internationally, I have to represent not only where I come from but also where I’m working — and help each side understand one another.”
That’s the heart of what luxury wedding planning really is: translating experience, emotion, and expectation into a moment that feels completely authentic.
And while some weddings come with extraordinary budgets, the core of the work — the reason I fell in love with this industry — is always the same:
“Weddings aren’t about flowers or celebrities. They’re about people, stories, and the connections we carry with us long after the day is over.”
Being featured in Forbes wasn’t just an honor — it was a chance to articulate what many couples, designers, and planners quietly feel: that weddings are far more than a celebration. They reflect society, they shape experiences, and they matter economically, socially, and personally.

Understanding how celebrity weddings are changing the industry means recognizing that these events are shaping creative standards, vendor practices, and global expectations of what modern luxury truly looks like. If you’re enchanted by weddings the way I am—not just as celebrations, but as cultural milestones—then this is the beginning of a conversation, not the end. You can read the full Forbes article here.
