As event planners, we are constantly collaborating with top vendors whom are truly experts in what they do. Not only are they knowledgeable and creative, they have a viewpoint unlike any other noting the trends that come, that go… and creating brand new trends themselves! This week our ‘IN & OUT‘ series will hear from a few of our wedding professional friends. We can expect to hear the down and dirty truth about what is ‘in’ and what is ‘out’ as we begin the summer!
Vice President of Bridal Sales.
We bring in top designers to our events to showcase their collections, groom and party.
When it comes to Bridal Fashion, I think a trend that is “out” for Spring/Summer 2015 would have to be an all matching bridal party. It’s all about individuality when it comes to the Bridesmaids and having them select gowns that they feel most comfortable in. I think we’re seeing more diversified looks in bridesmaid dresses like different necklines, different shades of color and even ombré. The “glam” factor isn’t just for the bride anymore; it’s for the entire party making for an incredible theme.
In bridal, color and showing skin is definitely having a moment. We’re starting to see brides take more risks when it comes to their gowns (think low backs and plunging necklines) and not just having a white or ivory moment; but rather subtle hues like blush, gold, and hints of silver or pale blue. Personality and style and not being so “traditional,” are definitely starting to take over and it’s refreshing to see. There’s also a more “laid back” approach to gowns in the sense that they’re more light, airy…ethereal. Many top designers have started to incorporate the trend of “crop-tops,” which lends itself to a more bohemian style bride. Not so heavy or constricting like an over-the-top silk satin ball gown and 80-foot train.
