#1 | An MDE Wedding Reflection
I woke up this morning and wondered if yesterday was a dream. That is the kind of job to be so thankful for isn’t it? Saturday’s wedding included a bride + groom with generous spirits and huge hearts, the coolest of bridal parties and the nicest families, which on their own would make for a wonderful day. But this wedding also included a dream team of creative partners who brought romance, style, a little whimsy and incredible elegance all together for a visually stunning result of bold color, warm candlelight, and good old fashioned fancy. Completing the circle, the spectacular team at the four seasons set the standard for impeccable service and vigorous attention to detail. Congratulations Liz & Travis, I was so happy to be a part of your wedding. And am so happy to have you as part of the MDE family. It was a ballroom full of incredible beauty, heartfelt celebration, wonderful food and so much love, for both of you!!!. Auguri!

#2 | Michelle & Her Dad
…My father didn’t tell me how to live; he lived, and let me watch him do it…” ~ Clarence Budington Kelland says it best. Throwing it back this Thursday to this great moment with my dad at our wedding. These moments caught on film are the culmination of a lifetime of him showing me how to live. I tagged along with him to his office as a child. And I learned that glass ceilings had no place in my father’s company structure. I worked in the engine room of his beloved boat alongside him. And learned that nice things require that you take care of them. I sat next to him in the car while he drove, and we sang. From Broadway musicals to Neil Diamond. From Men at Work to Paul Simon. I learned the value of a well rounded music palette. And that singing in the car is awesome. My parents brought me everywhere, we have flown since I was six months old. I learned about life outside of the one I live, and that all life is to be respected and embraced. I sat next to him when he woke up out of a 9 day coma a few years back, and casually asked for ice. I learned yet again that tenacity is paramount to life, and so is an iron constitution. Giving up simply does not exist. In all honesty, I would run out of room before I could even get to 5% of what he has shown me about living life. Instead, I will let these moments captured during our first dance tell you all you need to know. We did not go the conventional route since we never have before. Instead it was Paul Simon’s “You can call me Al…”. Starting from when I was small, we have always sung this song. I can’t quite explain the why, but it is a pledge to each other that we will always have each other’s backs. Dad, you are one in a million, thanks for the lessons and for this great dance. ❤️

So, I am awake, and enjoying the sun over the ocean, and the gorgeous views off our balcony along with some strong coffee while sitting with my HUSBAND, can you believe it?! Collin, you were an outstandingly handsome groom, and you are an outstanding partner. I love you.
Loved ones that were here surrounding us with support and laughter and celebration and love this weekend, you were truly the most spectacular element of the weekend. You were what made this so unforgettable for us. I have never in my life felt love like I did in that ballroom last night. It was incredible. Thank you for that.
Seeing all of your faces, speaking with you, hugging you and celebrating with you was the best.
But I have to say, the parties were pretty off the hook. ?
Bridal Party – YOU were the best companions on this journey this weekend. I kept looking at all of you thinking “How did I ever find so many incredible human beings that I get to call my family…”. It just leaves me with such a full heart.
Words cannot describe how we feel this morning. We love you all for being here. Thanks to everyone that shared a text or called. We are beyond touched and just so grateful to have such wonderful people in our lives. Mom + Dad, you outdid yourselves. I am truly speechless. But I would expect nothing less from you.
More photos and of course many thank you’s to come. Because the amount of work that the creative partners did to bring this weekend to work was in one word, EPIC. My hat is off to you, my heart will forever be grateful.

#5 | Creative Wedding
Creative clients are such a delight. When I can sit at a table with a good, old fashioned notebook and take notes while a brainstorm session happens, it is such a beautiful thing to me. It gives me a chance to learn about what matters to my clients, what places and experiences they carry with them from their lives, what people have impacted them and what food has been impactful or is a favorite. The couple that I worked with for this wedding had creativity aplenty, ranging from the bold colors of their reception floral to the 6 ice sculptures featured throughout the wedding. Loved this one that perfectly suited the ice bar. I so truly enjoy creating events and weddings that are a collection of meaningful, authentic and MAGICAL experiences for my clients and their guests. This beauty was designed by the incredibly talented @artbelowzeromax, these works of art are really something to see!!

#6 | Planning and Styling Year Round
Of all the things I love about being a wedding planner, something that stands out to me is being able to do a job that is so wonderfully influenced by seasons. Isn’t there something so magical about summer weddings and warm, candlelit nights under the stars? And that something so inviting as the leaves are falling and the air is crisp for an autumn wedding. Winter you say? I say yes please! What is more gorgeous than falling snow and a newlywed kiss? And then, spring and the promise it always brings with it each year and the move away from jewel tones into water colors. I just love it all, and am happy to never have to choose. Autumn is almost upon us, and this bouquet from @taylorcoevents gives me all the fall feels. I love all of that deep, yet soft color, the intricate textures and just the right amount of volume. #8 | The Art of Styling and Planning
Finalizing timelines for three of our September weddings today while preparing for this weekend’s beautiful Boston wedding. Creating timelines is always a painstaking process, but one that I love. Bringing all of the vendors, timing and expectations together for a day helps me (and my clients!) visualize how the day will flow. And then, the day arrives, and it is our job to be the keepers of that very special day. Seeing them come together on paper and then manifest in real time is very cool. Love this oldie but goody from an event that I produced at @parkwestchicago that had some really exciting live performance elements. Planning events and weddings is a big job, and a huge responsibility. And I am always honored when someone trusts me with their important celebrations. Little moments like these that allow me to take it all in are so satisfying!

#9 | Friday Feelings
When Friday feels like this. Today was a good one. It isn’t every day you get to enjoy the company of good friends, cheering each other on as we all chase a dream in one form or another. I love what I do professionally for so many reasons. I love my clients, and I truly appreciate the work. The challenges are fulfilling and knowing that my clients have truly special memories from their beautiful events means so much to me. But one of the things I love best about my work life is that it grants so many wonderful opportunities in every facet my life, well beyond work. The smile in this photo has been with me all afternoon here at the Kentucky horse park, and that is a pretty awesome way to slide into the weekend. ?
And all I can say is if you have a dream – chase it. Lean into it with all of your heart. Don’t worry what people will think or if you have what it takes. Because the courage that it takes to even embark on the journey will change your life for always, and for the better. I have chased professional goals. Personal goals too. Horse related goals especially. Those kinds of goals that make you “reach into your soul and be ready to put your entire everything out there because it will require that and more…” – and I just love every moment. Every win, every loss, every laugh, every dry heave. (Lol). And now, today – smiles. And with much gratitude in my heart, I will take it. ❤️ Happy Friday friends. Cheers to chasing dreams, setting goals, and leaning in to all of it.
