As the holiday season approaches, there’s nothing I love more than creating a space that feels warm, intentional, and full of gratitude. Thanksgiving is such a beautiful time to slow down, cook with loved ones, and gather around a table that tells a story — one filled with meaning, memory, and a touch of magic.
The holidays always push me to reflect on how much beauty there is in tradition — and how thoughtful design can elevate even the most intimate celebration. Whether you’re hosting family, friends, or both, your Thanksgiving table can set the tone for the entire day: festive yet relaxed, elegant yet personal.
For my own Thanksgiving table, I love blending the old with the new. Big, bold gilded leaves anchor the design, bringing warmth and drama to the tablescape. Handmade Italian linens — a nod to my heritage — add softness and texture.

Then come the details that make it ours: my mom’s charming collection of vintage salt and pepper shakers, delicate glassware, and heirloom china layered over gold chargers. Together, they create a story of family and gratitude, each piece holding a bit of memory.
No table is complete without a touch of nature. Fresh greenery and (faux) pheasant feathers add a rustic elegance that balances the formality of gold accents. I adore using hand-dipped beeswax tapers in rich saffron — they cast a golden glow that feels timeless and cozy.

No Thanksgiving is complete without good wine and even better company. I’ll be serving one of my favorites, Cordero di Montezemolo, as we toast to health, happiness, and the joy of togetherness.
And dessert! The whimsical turkey cake — complete with “Happy Thanksgiving” feathers — is from my favorite childhood bakery, Reuters Bakery. A nostalgic touch that makes the day even sweeter.
If you’re planning your Thanksgiving table, remember that it doesn’t need to be elaborate to be memorable. Choose pieces that mean something to you, layer textures and tones, and let candlelight and greenery do the rest.
Most of all — create space for gratitude. Because that’s what this holiday is all about.
Special thanks to my husband Collin Pierson — an incredible chef and photographer who helps bring these holiday visions to life (and captures them so beautifully).
