Things we are seeing this season that we love!

2019 is here, and that means it’s time for a new year, a new you, and a new group of exciting wedding trends. The wedding industry had lots of inspiration to draw upon last year (two royal weddings!), which resulted in stellar ideas you’ll simply adore! Here are a few of our favorites:

Living Coral

This vibrant shade was named Pantone’s 2019 “Color of the Year,” so expect to see the orangy-pink hue everywhere during wedding season. Thankfully, this bright shade beautifully compliments colors like white, green, or navy blue, which makes it a great pop of color for your big day.

Minimalist Fashion

Ever since Meghan Markle (now Meghan, Duchess of Sussex) wowed the world with her classic silk wedding gown, brides have been opting for more minimalist designs. Thanks to the Duchess’s simple yet chic look, dresses with clean lines and minimal embellishments are going to fly off the racks in 2019!

Illustrated Invites

Your wedding invitations and save-the-date cards are some of the first things your guests will see of your wedding, so they should reflect the theme and feel for the day. In 2019, some couples are really taking that advice to heart — by eschewing the usual pre-designed invites and commissioning original pieces from local artists! These uniquely illustrated invites set the tone for a truly special day.

Statement Cakes

For the past few years, cake alternatives (candy buffets, s’more bars, etc.) have been the hottest trend in the wedding industry. But in 2019, the great big cake is back! This trend — which is likely inspired by the recent royal weddings — is encouraging couples to order tall, ornate cakes that will look great on their dessert table.

Personalized Place Settings

In 2019, couples are replacing the traditional place cards with personalized messages, thanking their guests for coming to celebrate with them. Admittedly, this is easier if you’re having a small wedding, but it can be a wonderful way to show your guests that you appreciate their being there.

Unconventional Florals

Florals have always been an important part of wedding decor, but wedding florists in 2019 are switching things up by adding unusual plants to their arrangements. For example, pampas grass is becoming a very popular choice for wedding arches and other large pieces, because its neutral color and whimsical texture adds a special flair to any floral arrangement.

Balloon Walls

Flower walls are out (sorry Kim and Kanye). In 2019, many newlyweds are opting for a backdrop with a little more whimsy — namely, the balloon wall! A big, bright wall of balloons in your wedding colors can make your venue look particularly playful (and it makes for a great Instagram photo).
