Nestled in the rolling hills of Tuscany, Lucca is more than just a beautiful city to me—it’s home in the deepest sense of the word. My family’s roots are here, just outside the historic walls, in a small province where tradition and time seem to stand still. My grandfather’s journey from Lucca to the United States is a story of resilience, pride, and the unwavering love for this land that has been passed down to me. I have returned to Lucca hundreds of times over the years, and with each visit, I discover something new—whether it’s a hidden corner of the city, a new wine to love, or another reason why this is one of the most spectacular destinations for weddings and celebrations.

Villa Santo Stefano – A Historic Gem with Breathtaking Views

Tucked away in the rolling Lucchesia hills, just a short drive from the heart of Lucca, Villa Santo Stefano is a stunning estate that beautifully blends history, wine, and timeless Tuscan charm. Formerly known as Villa Bertolli, it was once owned by the famous Bertolli family before being acquired in 2001 by Wolfgang Reitzle and Nina Ruge. They transformed it into the breathtaking vineyard and wedding venue it is today, renaming it after the nearby 9th-century parish church of Santo Stefano.

This estate is truly special—not only is it surrounded by vineyards and olive groves, but it offers panoramic views that stretch to the sea on a clear day. Imagine exchanging vows with the golden Tuscan light filtering through the cypress trees, followed by a reception featuring some of the best locally produced wines, including one of my favorites, Il Loto. It’s the perfect place for a refined, intimate wedding that feels effortlessly luxurious.

La Torre – A Historic Estate in Lucca

Located just outside Lucca, this stunning estate is perched on a hillside with breathtaking views of the Tuscan countryside.
