Tin Bota, Romagna

June 15, 2023

Tin Bota is a message of solidarity for Italy’s Emilia Romagna, which literally means “hold on”. The message was created to support the region as it was recently devasted by intense flooding.

We are proud to have been a part of Gene & Georgetti’s benefit dinner to support those affected; proceeds directly support the farmers of this beloved region who have lost so much. The dinner kicked off the Emilia-Romagna Dinner Series presented by Chicago Chefs Cook; Gene & Georgetti was joined by 14 other restaurants who also curated special dinners and/or select menus in support of Emilia-Romagna.

For Gene & Georgetti, the outcome of the night was quite the feat; while a goal was set to sell 30 tickets, they sold-out, and actually welcomed 50 guests to their incredible dinner. Guests were treated to a curated 5-course meal by Head Chef, Cristiano Bassani along with award-winning Chefs Sarah Stegner and Genie Kwon. It truly was a night of exquisite dining along with great company, and to top it off, it was all for a great cause.

The recovery process from the devastating floods will span several years; but thanks to great organizations like Chicago Chefs Cook and collaborators willing to support the effort, the financial burden will be slightly lifted.
