We’re SO excited to see this gorgeous feature in Destination I Do!  The team behind it all was amazing and we so enjoyed collaborating to create this stunning photo shoot in sunny Riviera Maya, Mexico!

A Floral Fantasy In Mexico

Mexico is known for stunning backdrops and beautiful beaches. What better place to showcase a floral fantasy than on the shores of Mayakoba in Cancun?

This photo shoot was captured at Andaz Mayakoba Resort by the talented local team of Canteiro Weddings as well as stateside sensations Michelle Durpetti Events, Collin Pierson Photography and Kesh Events.

The mastermind behind the photo shoot and Chicago-based wedding planner, Michelle Durpetti, is always eager to give her destination events a cohesive, designed look. “My favorite elements to include in anything destination are decor and details! I think often people believe that because they are traveling somewhere for a wedding, or perhaps the guest count is smaller they maybe feel like it doesn’t necessarily need to be designed. So I love when my destination clients have a cohesive vision or are really inspired by their chosen location and we can create something layered and experiential. For me, a destination wedding is a chance to curate a really unique experience for all who make the journey to celebrate,” says Michelle Durpetti.

As for the inspiration and focus of this photo shoot, Michelle and team went for the unexpected. “We aimed for something a bit different by incorporating some deeper jewel tones and going for a really chic, romantic look that was still beach-friendly but had a ton of cool details and a lot of sexy!”

The couple’s style also had a level of surprise. “I LOVED the two groom’s looks of the rosé jacket and his change into emerald green. The bride’s first look gave me lots of mermaid vibes, and her second look was right off the Valentini runway and included pants. I was obsessed. I hope you are too!” says Michelle.

Safe to say, we are.
