As summer made its graceful exit, we couldn’t imagine a more beautiful way to say addio estate, ciao amore than by celebrating a love story that has only grown stronger with time. This Italian-inspired vow renewal brought together warmth, family, and la dolce vita charm in the heart of Chicago — and we were honored to bring it to life.

For this special celebration, our clients chose one of their favorite Chicago classics — Orso’s Restaurant. Nestled in Old Town, its ivy-draped patio and timeless ambiance created the perfect backdrop for an evening that felt straight out of an Italian summer.
Guests gathered beneath twinkling lights, surrounded by the scent of fresh florals and the sounds of laughter and music, for a night that celebrated not just a marriage, but a journey.

Every moment of this celebration was designed to feel personal and intentional. Guests were welcomed with custom watercolor portraits, hand-painted live throughout the evening — a keepsake to remember the joy of the night.

Each place setting featured engraved olive oil bottles, a nod to Italian tradition and a symbol of enduring love. And the menu? A love letter to Italy itself — filled with our clients’ favorite dishes, from handmade pastas to gelato that transported everyone straight to the piazzas of Rome and Florence.
The design, created in collaboration with Anthony Gowder Designs, evoked the golden hues and soft romance of an Italian summer — sunlight filtering through greenery, lemons and peaches adorning the tables, and warm candlelight bringing everything to life.
Vow renewals hold a special place in our hearts at Michelle Durpetti Events. There’s a joy and freedom in celebrating a love that has already stood the test of time — a sense of gratitude and grace that fills every moment.
As the evening came to a close, we couldn’t help but feel the magic of it all. Arrivederci, estate — grazie for the memories. This one was bellissimo from start to finish, and we’re so grateful to have helped tell this couple’s story in such a meaningful way.
