I’m so excited to share that I was recently featured in Brides magazine in their article on “The 9 Worst Foods to Serve at Your Wedding”. It’s always such an honor to be included as an expert voice in the wedding industry, and I love when I get the chance to talk about something as important as food.

The article highlights dishes that may not be the best fit for weddings — whether they’re hard to serve, messy, or just not memorable. Having planned weddings all over the world, I know how much impact a menu has on the guest experience. It’s not just about the food itself, but about how it’s served, how it feels, and how it fits into the flow of the day.
For example, chicken breasts might feel like a “safe” choice, but they often don’t hold up well when cooking for a large group. Messy dishes like ribs or overly saucy pasta can leave guests worried about their outfits instead of enjoying the moment. And seafood in outdoor summer heat? That’s always a gamble. These are the kinds of details that seem small, but they make a huge difference in how your guests experience your wedding.
When I work with my couples, I always encourage them to taste test everything, think through service logistics, and choose dishes that feel true to them while still being guest-friendly. Food is one of the most memorable parts of any wedding, and with a little intention, it can elevate the entire celebration.
I’m so grateful to Brides for including me in this feature, and I hope it gives couples a helpful perspective as they start thinking about their wedding menu. To see the full feature, visit Brides magazine here.
