Société Privée Brunch at Gene & Georgetti: A Summer Gathering of Creativity, Conversation, and Community

At Michelle Durpetti Events, we believe in the power of thoughtfully curated gatherings—those intimate, intentional moments where conversation flows, inspiration sparks, and community deepens. That’s exactly what we set out to create this past June when we hosted a summer brunch for Société Privée at Gene & Georgetti in Chicago.

What Is Société Privée?

Société Privée is an invitation-only global network of top-tier professionals in the luxury wedding and event space. Founded with a mission to cultivate connection, collaboration, and elevation among creative visionaries, it brings together leaders from across the world—planners, photographers, designers, florists, and tastemakers—who are shaping the future of luxury events.

As the Director of the Chicago chapter, I’m honored to lead this local community of industry professionals. We gather with the intention of inspiring one another, exchanging ideas, and building genuine relationships rooted in excellence, integrity, and creativity.

A Brunch to Remember

Our summer gathering was set against the charming backdrop of Gene & Georgetti, Chicago’s original Italian steakhouse and my family’s legacy business. The patio was the perfect setting for an afternoon of relaxed sophistication, designed to reflect both the hospitality at the core of MDE and the refined palette of our guests.

The menu was light, seasonal, and full of vibrant flavor—crafted to highlight the summer season and our Italian roots. We served:

• Ahi tuna crudo, fresh and delicate
• Two signature salads, bursting with color and texture
• Pasta alla Norma, a Sicilian classic with eggplant, tomato, and basil
• Tortelli Lucchese, a nod to our family’s roots in Lucca, Tuscany

Each course was paired with a selection of wines from Lucca, curated to enhance the flavors of the dishes and offer a taste of Italian terroir. The pairings elevated the experience, grounding it in cultural appreciation and sensory storytelling.

A Celebration of Our Team and Our Industry

I am endlessly proud of our Gene & Georgetti team, who brought this experience to life with their signature warmth and polish. From the kitchen to the floor staff, their dedication to excellence ensured every guest felt welcomed, seen, and cared for.

This event was a celebration of community, creativity, and shared purpose—exactly what Société Privée was created to foster. It’s a joy to watch Chicago’s industry voices come together in meaningful ways, and I’m so excited for what’s to come as we continue building this incredible community of professionals.
