Celebrating women’s history month

I love this month-long celebration that highlights the history of our path as women. This month includes TWO great days worth noting too: Festa Della Donna is March 8th in Italy and one of my FAVORITE days! And March 10th is International Day of the Woman!!

Gene & Georgetti and Michelle Durpetti Events are both proud to be woman-owned and operated (you read that right!). Just because the names on the sign of our family business are the two founding men, I never forget that our 81-year strong family business was built by women. And what drove me to open MDE!

Gene & Georgetti is celebrating its 81st year in business this spring and will be celebrating with a variety of really fun and dynamic events and menus! Throughout March we are recognizing the women who have built our brand (read more on that here), and we also have our traditional St. Patrick’s Day menu, and of course zeppole on St. Joseph’s Day (March 19th) to celebrate our Italian heritage.

The restaurant is also very happy to announce that it will return to in-restaurant dining in addition to take/out and delivery for lunch, allowing people to enjoy all of the lunch favorites they have come to know and love. This will happen on March 25th, the first official day of Chicago Restaurant Week.

Last but not least the legendary steak house will also be hosting an exclusive and very special wine dinner with Stag’s Leap on the 29th of March which is the perfect way to transition from winter to spring. The menu is inspired by the forests of (and recipes of!) Northern Italy, in perfect compliment to the flavors of Napa. Reservations are available here.
