Capturing Love: An Enchanting Engagement Session in Old San Juan

There’s something magical about capturing love in a place as rich in history and beauty as Old San Juan, Puerto Rico. I recently had the joy of being back in this magical place for a planning trip with a 2024 client, and while there they had an incredible engagement session in this colorful and vibrant city, and the experience was nothing short of enchanting. Who is ready to tag along on this beautiful journey, highlighting the stunning locations, the playful and romantic moments, and the unique charm that Old San Juan brought to this engagement session? I figured as much! Ok, allora andiamo!

Old San Juan, with its cobblestone streets, bright colonial buildings, and historic landmarks, served as the perfect backdrop for the love story of Gena + Fitz. The city’s mix of Spanish colonial architecture and tropical Caribbean charm creates an atmosphere that is both romantic and lively, ideal for an engagement session.

The session included time on the iconic Calle del Cristo, known for its vibrant buildings and charming balconies. The couple strolled hand in hand, their laughter and affection for each other shining through in every shot. The colorful streets provided a lively and dynamic background, reflecting the joy and energy of their relationship.

They enjoyed some time out at Castillo San Felipe del Morro, commonly known as El Morro. This 16th-century fortress offered breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean and a sense of magical timelessness. The contrast of the ancient stone walls against their modern love story added a unique depth to the photographs.

As the sun went down, the incredible sunset cast a warm, golden glow over the couple, creating a romantic and dreamy setting. The photos captured here were filled with emotion, showcasing the couple’s love against the backdrop of the setting sun and the endless ocean.

As night falls, the streets of Old San Juan light up, offering a different but equally enchanting atmosphere. The historic street lamps and the soft glow from the buildings created a cozy and intimate mood. The combination of the city’s historical charm and the couple’s genuine affection resulted in a series of images that they will treasure forever and so will I! I can’t wait for their wedding in May.

Old San Juan proved to be more than just a picturesque location; it was a character in the love story, adding layers of beauty, history, and emotion to each photograph. For couples considering destination locations for engagement sessions and weddings too, Old San Juan offers a unique and unforgettable experience, blending the magic of love with the enchantment of one of the world’s most beautiful historic cities!
