What I love about planning weddings

Most of the time, what is given space here in my little corner of the world wide web is the gorgeous designs and the insane talent within the wedding + event industry that brings my client’s celebrations to life. Which is a massively integral component of what we do. Obviously. But for those of us who dedicate our lives to the craft, there is a component that is even more. More heart, more love. More just of that from your toes feeling of goodness and fulfillment and “yesss this!” 

Much of what I do as a planner you don’t see. Because it involves small, key moments upon which all of that lovely that is showcased is built.  While bringing the gorgeous is paramount to celebrating, the time we share with the people who are part of that celebrating is also such a huge part of what I do. I have been so lucky to get to teach a little girl or boy all about their important job at a wedding. They trust me and want so much to do a good job. Even though maybe they are a little nervous. These moments captured with sweet Cali during rehearsal this week really beautifully illustrate the human side of planning. 

Meaning it isn’t only about gorgeous parties and fabulous details but also people. ✨People coming together to celebrate love and each other. And to make memories that they will carry through their lives. These tiny moments are truly what make this role of planner one of the great honors of my life. From best friends to fathers of the bride to brothers to four-legged family – we become part of the journey in the lives of our clients for the time we plan with them. And then for me, even long after that is over they are forever in my heart. All these beautiful people I get to meet along the way. How special is that? 🫶🏼

These moments are the ones that for me bring all of the heart and soul of celebrating front and center. You can’t do something time & again for 16 years without that component that anchors you and for me, it’s these times, these little moments that make such a big impact in my heart and in my life.
